Two Largest Christian Video Game Companies Merge

MergedGameCompanies

Do your kids play the popular Christian video games "Charlie The Church Mouse," or "Dance Praise" (the VeggieTales edition)? Well now the makers of both those games have merged.

Digital Praise and Left Behind Games, Inc. have joined forces in their mission to spread the Gospel through interactive fun. Traditionally, the Christian video game market has been widely under-served. Hopefully, their merger will result in increased visibility and continued high quality products for Christian families everywhere. Godspeed!

Huge marketplace opportunity!

Hope this is news is stemming from good times for both companies vs. a defensive retreat due to current market conditions.

One of the biggest opportunities I think video game companies like DigitalPraise.com have are to produce Nintendo DS cartridge games that are both explicitly Gopsel-centered, but also non-explicit games that are just plain old educational while keeping the fun. Leapster is one company which has attempted to do this, but because it's a closed proprietary gaming system, the potential reach is limited. Imagine if they released all their games on the Nintendo DSi or Wii platforms?

Two cheers for Digital Praise -- hope we can encourage more companies and entrepreneurs in this arena!
